In 2022, I had the honor of signing on as proponent and photographer for the project "Making Ceramics," an initiative made possible by the Aldir Blanc Emergency Incentive Law. The result was a remarkable photographic exhibition, composed of a collection of 25 works that circulated through important venues in Governador Valadares, such as the Sebastião Pimenta Atelier, the 16th Flower Festival, and the Jazz Festival.

Far beyond a visual record, this project was a deep dive into the artistic identity and rich cultural heritage of the leading ceramic masters of our city. Each click sought to immortalize the connection of these artists with clay, translating into images the dedication, sweat, and poetry that surround this ancient art.

Being able to combine photography with preserving the memory of our local talents is what gives true meaning to my work. My respect and gratitude go to each ceramic artist who shared their story and their art before my lens.

And you, did you get a chance to check out this exhibition at any of your stops in 2022?
